Science by Design successfully executed a turnkey design and build project for a 6,000 sq. ft. facility for a leading Oil and Natural Gas manufacturing company. The goal was to create a consolidated space that supports advanced laboratory functions alongside administrative operations. The facility was planned to ensure a seamless blend of technical and corporate environments, enabling both high-precision research and smooth team collaboration under one roof.

The laboratory zone was carefully designed to house multiple specialized units critical to the client’s operations. These included the Analytical Lab, Decarbonization/Pollution Control Lab, Coke Oven Lab, Raw Material Preparation Lab, Hot Zone, Coke Analysis Lab, and Formulation Lab. Each space was developed with precise workflows, safety systems, and technical utilities tailored to the demanding processes of fuel research, pollution control, and raw material testing. Proper zoning and exhaust design were key to ensuring safety and functionality across all labs. Science by Design also focused on material compatibility, ventilation strategies, and utility routing to ensure the labs would remain efficient and safe over long-term usage. The result was a robust lab infrastructure capable of supporting both current research demands and future scalability.
The office area, though partial in footprint, was designed to offer functional and comfortable spaces for the team. It included private cabins for key personnel and well-organized workstations to facilitate coordination between lab staff and management. Attention was given to acoustics, lighting, and ergonomic design to create a productive and welcoming workspace. Collaborative zones were also integrated to support quick discussions and decision-making, helping bridge the gap between technical execution and strategic planning. This thoughtful integration ensured that administrative and operational workflows complemented the technical functions of the lab space.
